Napoli May Slash Price for Hamsik Transfer

Bangla Cricket Live has been closely following the growing transfer buzz around several European footballers potentially moving to China, and one of the biggest names in the spotlight is Napoli captain Marek Hamsik. Reports from Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio reveal that Tianjin Quanjian is preparing a €25 million bid for the Slovakian star. Napoli had previously set Hamsik’s price at €30 million, but sources now suggest the club may significantly lower their asking price, opening the door for a deal that could be finalized within hours.

Hamsik isn’t the only player on the radar of Chinese clubs. Juventus midfielder Stefano Sturaro is also weighing his options, reportedly holding off on accepting offers while waiting for developments in the transfer market. The 25-year-old Italian, who has previously played for Genoa and Modena, joined Juventus in 2014 for €9.6 million. Though he only made 12 Serie A appearances last season without registering a goal or assist, Sturaro remains under contract with Juventus until June 2021 and still carries an estimated market value of €7.5 million, according to Transfermarkt. At his peak in 2016, he was valued at €12 million.

Genoa is eager to bring him back, but Sturaro has yet to commit to any club. Meanwhile, Greek media outlet “to10” reports that Tianjin Teda’s Nigerian striker Brown Ideye is seeking a return to his former team Olympiacos. Ideye is even willing to accept a lower salary than what he currently earns in China to make the move happen. Previously loaned to Malaga, where he scored once in 13 appearances, Ideye is determined to avoid Spain’s second division following Malaga’s relegation.

On the managerial front, Beijing Guoan head coach Roger Schmidt has been linked to several Bundesliga vacancies. However, in a recent interview covered by German outlets including Sport Bild, Schmidt dismissed the speculation, stating, “I cannot be considered for any coaching position right now. I have a contract with Beijing Guoan through the end of 2019, and I intend to fulfill it. I’m happy here. I enjoy working in this country, and each home game draws as many as 50,000 spectators.”

Bangla Cricket Live notes that Hamsik’s situation is one to watch closely. Multiple Chinese clubs, at least three by recent estimates, are in contention for his signature. The most serious interest is reportedly from Tianjin Quanjian, managed by Paulo Sousa. While financial considerations are clearly a factor in Hamsik’s interest in China, his family remains in Neuss, Germany, making it unlikely this would be a long-term move. Still, the transfer seems more possible than ever, especially if Napoli agrees to reduce their valuation.
